Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is Now Available
Microsoft’s stunning—and stunningly expensive—Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is now available for purchase at Microsoft Store and other select retailers. And it’s coming to more markets later this year.
“This week, we launched the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 in 31 countries,” Microsoft’s James Shields announced. “We’re excited to share the news that we will be launching the Elite Series 2 in seven more countries later this year: Argentina, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates.”
The Series 2 Elite controller is, of course, a follow-up to the equally expensive original Elite controller and is, as Brad points out in his review, an improvement with numerous refinements. As before, the Elite Series 2 is fully customizable thanks to its modular design and replaceable parts, but with Bluetooth connectivity, new thumbstick sensitivity customization, and a non-removable rechargeable battery.
What hasn’t changed is the price: It still costs an incredible $180. And if you have to ask if it’s worth that price, no, you absolutely don’t need it. (Maybe we’ll get a Black Friday deal soon.)
