As expected, Apple’s Beats is introducing a successor to the Powerbeats 3 this week. The company launched the Powerbeats Pro back in April 2019, and it’s now introducing the new Powerbeats 4 this week.

Actually, the successor to the Powerbeats 3, the new Powerbeats 4 are simply called the Powerbeats, without the 4. That kind of makes sense — Beats has the Pwoerbeats Pro for the truly wireless experience and the regular Powerbeats are for the wired editions that have almost all the feature as the Powerbeats Pro.

The new Powerbeats offer 15-hours of battery life, up from the 12 hours in the Powerbeats 3. Like the new Powerbeats Pro, the new Powerbeats are powered by Apple’s H1 chip, allowing for the same quick-pairing experience as AirPods, and hands-free Hey Siri support.

The new earbuds also offer IPx4 water and sweat resistance. In fact, Apple says the regular Powerbeats offer the same sound quality as the Powerbeats Pro. The main advantage here, however, is that you are getting 15 hours of battery life with the not-so-wireless variants, while the truly wireless Powerbeats Pro offers only 9 hours of battery life.

The new earbuds are available in black, white, and red. It charges via a lightning cable and will be available starting March 18th. It will sell for $149, compared to the $199 Powerbeats Pro.
