Google announced today that Chrome 77 is now available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS.

“The Chrome team is delighted to announce the promotion of Chrome 77 to the Stable channel for Windows, Mac, and Linux,” the Chrome Releases blog notes. “This will roll out over the coming days/weeks.” A separate post explains that the firm has “just released Chrome 77 for Android” as well. “It’ll become available on Google Play over the next few weeks.”

Figuring out what’s new is a bit difficult since Google doesn’t usually publicize new Chrome features and changes immediately. But there is a new tab sharing feature that lets you send a tab in Chrome on one device to a tab in Chrome on another.

The firm also made a change to the so-called Extended Validation indicator—the little icon that appears to the left of the URL in the Chrome omnibar—such that it no longer displays the website’s company name if it does use extended validation TLS/SSL certificates; Google found that displaying this information just took up space and didn’t benefit users.

The Android version also includes tweaks to the Downloads screen and a new Contact picker sheet.

Chrome 77 also includes performance improvements fixes 36 security flaws, one of which is Critical and 8 that are High Severity.
