Dell Debuts New XPS 13 Ahead of CES

Posted January 2, 2020 | Dell XPS | Hardware | Mobile | Windows | Windows 10

Samsung isn’t the only PC maker preempting CES: Dell has announced a thinner new version of its XPS 13 laptop today as well.

The new 2020 XPS 13 is thinner and lighter than before, but it features a 6.8 percent larger and 25 percent brighter 16:10 13.4-inch InfinityEdge display in what Dell calls an “11-inch form factor.” It features 10th-generation Intel Core processors, up to 32 GB of RAM, and Intel WiFi 6 capabilities, and it can be configured with up to 4K Ultra HD+ (3840 x 2400) display.

The new XP3 13 is also compatible with Intel’s Project Athena, which seeks to raise the bar on PC experiences by certifying hardware that features “rapid responsiveness, worry-free battery life, and instant resume.”

It can also be ordered in a special Developer Edition that ships with Ubuntu 18.04LTS instead of Windows 10, if you are so inclined.

The new Dell XPS 13 will start at about $1000 and will be available in the U.S., Canada, Sweden, U.K., Germany, and France on January 7 and elsewhere globally on February 4.
