Dropbox Launches Its Quick File Transfer Solution

Posted November 5, 2019 | Cloud | Dropbox | Dropbox Transfer | Windows

Dropbox is launching a new service this week. The company is launching Dropbox Transfer, a product it’s been testing since earlier this year. The new service makes it super easy to transfer files to others.

The idea behind Dropbox Transfer is essentially like WeTransfer: it’s meant to offer a send-it-and-forget-it solution where you simply upload files that you need to hand-off to someone else and forget about it.

Dropbox Transfer lets you send you up to 100 GB of files, and once you upload a file, you get given a sharing link that you can share with anyone for them to be able to download it. And if you want, you can even set an expiry date to the link, along with a password.

Dropbox Transfer also shows you stats on how many people have accessed your files, if you are interested in that. You can transfer files from the Dropbox desktop and iOS apps, as well as the Dropbox site. And for Pro users, you can have your own logo and background for your file sharing links.

It’s a pretty straightforward tool that will mean you will no longer have to send large (well, 25MB) files through emails.
