EA Play for Game Pass PC Has Been Delayed
One of the big fall announcements this year was that Microsoft was bringing EA Play titles to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. While the integration for console gamers has arrived, for those on the PC, there is bad news.
Microsoft has announced today that EA Play and Game Pass for the PC integration has been delayed. The company has not provided an updated timeline as to when this functionality will arrive but this is likely a letdown for many gamers.
The unknown question at this time is why has it been delayed? Considering that the business agreement has already been signed (or else they never would have announced this), it’s more than likely a technical challenge at this point.
When we originally set out to write this blog post, which would announce the availability of EA Play on PC with Xbox Game Pass, it looked a little bit different. Unfortunately, what had been a celebratory post is now one asking for a little more patience: We made the decision to delay until 2021 the release of EA Play on PC as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC and Ultimate memberships.
And that’s about all the details that they provide. Given how poorly CyberPunk 2077 has been received with its wide variety of bugs, Microsoft is making a smart move to delay the offering rather than launch the integration with a poor end-user experience.
Considering that this feature was expected to launch today, I would think that this means that it should be released earlier in 2021, rather than later.
