Google expanded its Duplex technology to 43 states in the United States almost a month ago. At the time, Duplex was only available to Google Assistant users on Pixel devices. The company promised it will deliver Duplex on more devices in the coming weeks, and it’s finally delivering on its promise.

First noticed by XDA Developers, Google’s Duplex feature is now available on Android devices with Google Assistant, as well as iPhone devices with the Google Assistant app. Google officially lists the supported devices on the support page, stating that customers can use Duplex on the following devices:

• Android devices running version 5.0 or newer
• iPhones with the Google Assistant installed

Google Duplex, for those unfamiliar, is an AI-powered feature on Assistant that allows the Assistant to make reservations on your behalf. The feature works by automatically calling up a restaurant, and making a booking for you, all while talking naturally like an actual human. You just need to ask the Assistant to make a reservation for you, and it will take care of the rest.

Duplex is still very much a feature that’s going to grow quite a lot going forward. Right now, it’s only limited to restaurant reservations but that’s going to expand to more use cases in the future as Google trains the Assistant on different scenarios and use cases.
