Google Calendar and Keep Get Dark Mode on Android

Posted May 21, 2019 | Android | Android Q | Google | Google Calendar | Google Keep | Windows

Google is rolling out a new dark mode for Google Calendar and Google Keep for Android users. Dark modes have become a really popular feature across all apps and user interfaces, so it’s no surprise to see Google work on bringing a dark mode to its apps.

Google is already introducing a native dark mode to Android with the next major upgrade, by the way. The new dark mode on Android will apply a system-wide dark theme for the entire operating system, and it will obviously work best with apps that have a built-in dark theme. Google has already promised to introduce dark modes for all its first-party apps, and Google Calendar and Keep are joining some of its other apps like YouTube that already have a built-in dark mode.

The new dark mode on Google Calendar and Keep will also automatically get enabled if you enable the dark theme on Android Q, so it follows the system theme settings. The updates are rolling out this week, and it could take a few more days before arriving for everyone.
