Google is working to fix the Wi-Fi issues that are currently plaguing some Pixel 6 devices. Following the release of the February software update, some Pixel 6 users have been unable to turn on Wi-Fi on their device or had the wireless connection automatically shut off once the screen is locked.

As reported by 9to5Google, the company has acknowledged today the Wi-Fi problems on Reddit and confirmed that a fix will be released next month. “After some investigation, we identified the root cause and determined that it impacts a very small number of devices. Of course, we realize this is a poor experience and immediately developed a software fix that will be available in the next Google Pixel Update, rolling out in March,” the company explained.

If you really can’t deal with these Wi-Fi issues on your Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro, Google recommends contacting the support team to explore other options before the March update is released. In the meantime, 9to5Google is reporting that installing the Android 12L Beta 3 also fixes these Wi-Fi issues.

The latest Pixel phones have been generally well-received, though it’s not the first time that Google’s software updates have shipped with some quality problems. There’s really a lot to like about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, so let’s hope the upcoming March software update will finally get things right.
