Instagram is getting new features to fight online bullying on the platform. The company actually has been one of the more proactive online platforms taking action against online bullying, with features that help prevent bullying on Instagram.

Today, it’s introducing new features that will allow users to have more control over their account and block negative comments.

With today’s update, Instagram now lets users delete comments in bulk. You can now select and delete up to 25 comments at once, which will be really useful for those who may be receiving lots of negative/spam comments. Instagram also now lets users block or restrict accounts in bulk, so you can not only bulk delete comments, but you can also block/restrict those commenters from interacting with your account.

The company is giving users more control over who can tag and mention them as well. Instagram is adding new options that will allow users to limit tagging and mentioning to only people you follow, or completely disable tagging and mentioning.

And lastly, Instagram is introducing the ability to pin comments soon. The feature will let users select comments to be pinned to the top of their comments. “This feature gives people a way to set the tone for their account and engage with their community by pinning a select number of comments to the top of their comments thread,” the company wrote in a blog post announcing the new features.

Instagram is rolling out these new features to its Android and iOS apps today, though Pinned Comments will not be available right away.
