iOS 13 to Introduce New Dark Mode, Improved iPad Home Screen
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 13 at WWDC in a few months time. Ahead of the announcement, some new details about the upcoming version of iOS have been revealed by Bloomberg.
The publication is reporting that iOS 13 will come with a brand new dark mode option for the OS, which would be a much welcome feature for everyone. Especially if you own an iPhone with an OLED screen, a system-wide dark mode for iOS is going to be fantastic. Google is also expected to introduce a system-wide dark mode for Android with the next major update. iPhone users have been asking for a dark mode for ages, and with dark mode in apps becoming a popular trend, it’s no surprise to see both Google and Apple working to bring a native dark mode to their respective operating systems.
iOS 13 will also include some much-needed improvements for the iPad. The update will apparently introduce a new home screen, though it isn’t clear exactly what changes the new home screen will include. It’s likely the update will focus on adapting better to larger screens like the ones on Apple’s iPad Pro.
iOS 13 is going to introduce a tabbed experience for apps too, and users will apparently be able to tab through multiple versions of a single app like you can with tabs on a web browser, and that will seriously boost productivity on devices like the iPad Pro.
Apple is expected to talk more about iOS 13 later this year, and the company is even expected to integrate its new original video content service and news subscription service into the OS with this year’s updates.
