It has been a busy couple of weeks for hardware announcements and Microsoft is joining the party with their own event in early October. The company has sent out invites for its October event which will take place on the 2nd in NYC.

As for what’s on the agenda? This looks to be a more consumer-focused event to likely show how the company is still engaged with that part of the market after it has been speculated by some that the company is slowly transitioning to an enterprise-only organization.

With Intel announcing the availability of new chips and the Surface Laptop and Pro starting to show their age when it comes to CPU choices, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the company refresh these devices at the event. I would not expect to see any new form factors at the event and it’s likely going to be a bit milder than past October announcements.

Microsoft joins the announcement party with Apple having a hardware event next week and Google announcing its own event for October 9th. Anyone looking to buy a new phone or laptop should wait until after all these events conclude as not only will you be able to buy the latest and greatest, you will also likely be able to find a good deal on the last gen hardware too.
