Microsoft has confirmed today that it will hold a Developer_Direct Livestream hosted by Xbox and Bethesda on January 25 at 12pm PT. The event will provide updates on the upcoming Xbox-exclusive games Redfall and Forza Motorsport, and gamers can also expect some updates for the cross-platform titles The Elder Scroll Online and the upcoming Minecraft Legends.

“Presented by the game creators themselves from studios including Arkane Austin, Mojang Studios, Turn 10 Studios, and ZeniMax Online Studios, the Developer_Direct will focus on big features, extended gameplay showcases, and the latest info for Xbox games launching in the next few months, including The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall, the Xbox team explained.

The Developer_Direct announcement also explicitly mentioned that Starfield, the much-anticipated new IP from Bethesda Game Studios will have its own standalone show later this year. Starfield initially had a November 11, 2022 release date, but the game has since been delayed to 2023.

Following a pretty dry 2022 in terms of Xbox-exclusive games, the Xbox team is set to come back in full force this year. The next Forza Motorsport game is expected to make good use of the Xbox Series X’s 12 teraflops of computing power, while Redfall appears to be an interesting new multiplayer shooter from the makers of Dishonored and Deathloop.

While Xbox players are still waiting for a current-gen version of Minecraft with ray-tracing support, Mojang Studios will show off the PvP multiplayer experience of Minecraft Legends, their upcoming Minecraft-themed action-strategy game. If Minecraft Legends is set to be released in the Spring, we’ll see if Microsoft shares more details about when we can expect Forza Motorsport and Redfall to be released during the event.
