Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS Comes Out of Preview

Posted November 30, 2017 | Android | Microsoft Edge | Mobile | Windows

Microsoft formally announced today that Edge for Android and iOS is no longer in preview.

“A special thanks you goes out to each of you—hundreds of thousands of you—who downloaded, test-drove, and sent feedback on the preview apps,” Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore writes. “Your ideas and passion have contributed to an even better app experience.”

I just wrote about the recent update that removed the preview tag yesterday, but neglected to mention the status change. Anyway, it’s official now.

The first non-preview version of Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS provides roaming password support and a dark theme option, and of course the Edge features—like Reading List and Reading View—that one would expect. But its key feature, perhaps, is Continue on PC, which lets you open the web page you’re looking at on your phone right on your PC, or save it to work on later.

Microsoft Edge for Android and iOS is available in the United States (English), China (Simplified-Chinese), France (French) and the UK (English), and the Android version is also available in Australia, Canada, and India (all English). Microsoft says that it will bring Edge for iOS and Android to additional markets and languages “over time.”
