Microsoft is looking to spread awareness for Xbox Game Pass with a new Xbox Game Pass Friend Refferal offer. Starting today, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can give a free 14-day PC Game Pass trial to up to five friends that have yet to try the game subscription service.

These limited-time PC Game Pass free trials follow the discontinuation of Microsoft’s special discounts for new Game Pass subscribers. For many years, Microsoft offered $1 trials for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but that ended in March. At the time, the company said that it was “evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future.”

This new Xbox Game Pass Friend Referral offer also comes right after Microsoft expanded PC Game Pass to 40 new markets. With over 1.4 billion Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs on the market, PC Game Pass can reach a much bigger audience than its console counterpart. The 14-day PC Game Pass trial also includes access to the EA Play catalog, something that the base Xbox Game Pass tier doesn’t include.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriber, you can find your Friend Referral invitations on the Game Pass section of the Xbox app on PC. You just need to click the “Give PC Game Pass” button to share the free trials with your friends. Again, please keep in mind that only people who never subscribed to Game Pass before will be able to redeem the free trial codes.
