Microsoft Will Pay to Move Businesses Off Google, Dropbox, and Box

Posted February 6, 2018 | Cloud | Office 365 | OneDrive | OneDrive for Business | Windows

Microsoft is unveiling a big new offer for Google, Dropbox, and Box customers. To give OneDrive for Business a huge push, the company is making it cheap for Google, Dropbox, and Box users to move to its own platform.

As part of the new offer, Microsoft will be offering OneDrive for Business for free to customers of three of the world’s biggest cloud storage providers for the remaining term of their existing contract. The offer is only available to customers who have at least 500 users, and aren’t already using OneDrive for Business or Office 365. Put simply, this offer is mostly for medium-large sized businesses looking to move to OneDrive for Business.

Microsoft is also making the migration process for customers dead simple with its FastTrack service at no extra cost. All in all, this seems like a great deal for businesses as long as they are not too tied to the Google ecosystem. One would imagine the price for moving to Microsoft’s entire Office 365 suite from the free OneDrive for Business offer is relatively cheap for these new customers, plus they could potentially be able to leverage the benefits of Microsoft 365 and all the Windows 10 licenses that come with it. The offer only lasts until the end of June, by the way.
