While Mixer has long offered ways for viewers to reward game streamers, a new system called Mixer Loot rewards viewers too.

“Mixer Loot is a brand-new way to earn in-game content for watching fun and electrifying moments from your favorite streams on Mixer,” Microsoft’s Glenn Miller announced. “Leveraging the same AI-powered technology behind HypeZone, Mixer Loot scans streams across the platform to determine when cool moments have occurred and rewards you for witnessing them.”

With this addition, you’ll see a new Loot icon next to the titles of streams that support Mixer Loot. The first game to support it is Sea of Thieves and Loot for that game will go live alongside its Anniversary Update on April 30, Microsoft says. A special Obsidian Six Item Pack will be available to anyone who watch the completion of 30 Sea of Thieves Arena matches on Mixer between April 30 at 8am PT and May 5 at 11:59 pm PT, while supplies last.

Loot progress can be tracked via the Loot icon on a stream page, and you can always access your My Loot page in Mixer settings to grab award codes. Microsoft says that Mixer Loot is limited to one reward code per account per each unique Loot opportunity.

For those unfamiliar with Mixer, Microsoft’s game streaming service also offers two forms of rewards for game streamers as well. Streamers can financial rewards via Mixer Sparks when people watch their streams. And viewers can spend actual money and send payments to streamers explicitly via Mixer Embers.
