Motorola’s New Android One Phones Are Budget iPhone X Clones

Posted August 31, 2018 | Android | Android One | Hardware | Mobile | Motorola | Motorola One | Motorola One Power | Windows

Motorola is releasing two new Android One devices this week. The company’s new Android One devices come at affordable prices, a clean Android experience, and promise three years of security updates like the majority of other Android One devices. LG, for example, released a high-end Android One device just earlier in the week.

And Motorola’s new Motorola One and Motorola One Power handsets are the latest to join Google’s Android One program. These are technically Motorola’s first Android One devices, even though the company did launch an Android One version of the Moto X. And as you can see from the picture above, the handsets look like every other pemium/mid-range handset of 2018: an iPhone X clone.

This also isn’t Motorola’s first iPhone X clone, the company launched a phone earlier this month exclusively for its Chinese customers that is a complete rip off of the iPhone X. But the Motorola One and Motorola One Power actually do look like really good smartphones.

Coming in at €299 (roughly $350), the Motorola One packs a 5.9-inch HD display with a 19:9 Max Vision display. The device comes with a 13MP dual camera system on the back, combined with an 8MP camera for selfies on the front. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clocked at 2.0GHz. For the battery life, Motorola says the device can offer up to 6 hours of power in 20 minutes thanks to its TurboPower fast charger. It’ll be available in the coming months across Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

And then there is the Motorola One Power — it’s launching exclusively in India, and it’s a little more powerful than the regular Motorola One. With a 6.2-inch display and an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, the Motorola One Power is only slightly more powerful than the regular Motorola One. It can offer the same 6 hours of battery life, but only in 15 minutes of charge. It packs 64GB of built-in storage, with expandable storage options. Motorola interestingly isn’t revealing the pricing of the One Power, but the India-only approach is certainly quite fascinating.

Motorola’s latest Android One devices do look quite promising for the price. The devices look like unapologetic iPhone X clones, but the Android One experience could make them one of the better iPhone X clones you can get right now.
