Moving Forward

Posted June 11, 2020 | Uncategorized | Windows

It’s been more than 2 and a half years since I joined the BWW Media Group to help cover tech news on Thurrott.com. Basically, I don’t like working with Paul and Brad and they bully me every day.

Just kidding.

Over the last few years, it was an incredible experience to get to work with Paul, Brad, and the rest of the team. They are the best in the industry, and if you’d told me I would be working with them 5 years ago, I’d simply call bullsh*t. Since joining in November 2017, I published over 2,100 articles and had a lot of fun doing it.

As some of you may know, working on Thurrott.com was not my only “job”. I am only 20, and currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science (just finished the final exam for 2nd year yesterday), plus I also develop my own projects on the side, most notably Tweeten.

Starting next week, I am starting my first-ever job as a software engineer! I will be joining the Windows team at Qualcomm, working on exciting projects like Windows 10 on ARM. This is an incredible opportunity for me, and I am very much looking forward to learning new things and building some cool stuff.

Sooooooo…what does this mean for my work on Thurrott.com? Put simply, I am taking a break from the site. My internship does not end till September, and so I will not be publishing any articles on Thurrott.com for that period of time. Once my internship ends, I will still be writing on Thurrott.com, but I will be much less active. I will be in the final year of my degree next year, and it’s important for me to focus on my education.

I love what I do on Thurrott.com, so I will still be around, bringing you the latest tech news. I am very thankful for the entire team at BWW Media Group — George, Tina, Paul, Brad, and everyone else that help keep things running on a day-to-day basis.

And thank you so much for reading my articles and following my work over the years. I really appreciate all the support I get, and I am genuinely very thankful. This internship marks the beginning of a very exciting phase of my career, and I couldn’t be more pumped. If you would like to stay up-to-date with what I do over the summer, make sure to follow me on Twitter.

See you in 13 weeks.
