Outlook Adds Working Hours And Location, More Hybrid Work Features
Microsoft announced some new Outlook features for hybrid workers at its Ignite 2022 conference today. The email and calendar app is getting support for working hours and locations, which will let users share their availability and working location throughout the week to simplify meeting planning with colleagues.
In addition to Outlook, this new hours and location feature will also be available in Microsoft Teams by the end of the year. Outlook is also getting a Meeting recap feature, which will provide easy access to all meeting information as well as recordings.
On macOS, Outlook is also getting support for focused profiles and Apple’s focus filters. These features will let Outlook for Mac users enjoy a distraction-free experience with notification settings that can be configured for each account profile within Outlook.
Lastly, Microsoft announced today that Outlook is getting better support for Loop components, the new collaborative objects that are expanding soon to more Microsoft 365 apps. After rolling out on the Outlook web app, Loops components are coming soon to Outlook for Windows.
Outlook users will also be able to leverage the Microsoft Editor with Context IQ to surface Loop components in the app. Q&A, a new type of Loop component will also become generally available on the Outlook web app in November.
