Microsoft is officially launching its PC Game Pass subscription service in 40 new markets following a beta period that started in February. Microsoft says it saw an “incredible” response during the preview and that PC Game Pass will go live in these new markets later today.

The list of new markets where PC Game Pass is launching today includes several countries in the European continent (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Luxembourg, Romania, and Ukraine), North Africa (Algeria, Morroco, Tunisia, Egypt, and Lybia), the middle-east (Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Oman), and South America (Bolivia, Nicaragua, Peru, and Uruguay). PC Game Pass provides access to hundreds of games for a low monthly price ($9.99/month in the US), including new Xbox Game Studios releases on day one. That includes much-anticipated upcoming games such as Bethesda’s Starfield or the next Forza Motorsport. The EA Play library on PC is also available for PC Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.

“To celebrate the launch, new members will receive a special welcome offer for their first three months for a limited time. Those who were a part of our Insider Program will receive two free months of PC Game Pass membership, with no further action needed, as a thank you for helping us shape the experience and being one of the first PC Game Pass members in your country,” Microsoft said today.

Microsoft announced back in January 2022 that its Game Pass service had reached 25 million subscribers, though the company didn’t provide details about PC subscribers. PC Game Pass launched two years after Xbox Game Pass, and it probably doesn’t enjoy the same mindshare as its Xbox counterpart. However, with more than 1.4 billion active devices running Windows 10 or Windows 11, the PC game subscription service, now available in a total of 86 markets, can potentially reach a much broader audience.
