Samsung uses green packaging for the Galaxy S10 line
It was back in 2013 when Samsung introduced its first packaging that was made from 100% recycled material (discarded paper). The first 100% recycled foldable box came out the next year. By 2016, Samsung started using natural materials for its plastic packaging, and in 2017 and 2018 the company debuted pulp mold packaging. This is a thin, solid material that is completely recyclable. Now, Samsung is shipping the Galaxy S10 in completely plastic-free boxes.
“From the Galaxy S10 line’s design stage, we were deeply committed to developing eco-friendly packaging materials. We will continue to support international efforts to make our planet more sustainable by utilizing eco-friendly materials in more products.”-Ilseob Baek, Vice President of Reliability Group, Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics”
Besides using recycled paper for the Galaxy S10 packaging, Samsung employs soy ink. This is created from soybeans and is a natural alternative to regular petroleum-based ink.
