Sony revealed the launch date and pricing details for its PlayStation VR2 lineup today. The PS VR2 headset and its accessories will launch on February 22, 2023, and it will be priced at $549.99/€599.99/£529.99.

Whether you live in the US, the UK, or the rest of Europe, the PlayStation VR2 will cost more than an actual PlayStation 5 console. And that is after Sony raised the price of the PS5 in all markets except for the US back in August.

“PlayStation VR2 Sense Technology includes key features that enable unique gameplay experiences, such as headset feedback, eye tracking, 3D audio, and the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback from the PS VR2 Sense controllers. Together with compatible games they will captivate players’ senses and offer an incredibly deep feeling of immersion,” Sony explained today.

Sony will have more than 20 PS VR2 titles available at launch including the first-party game Horizon Call of the Mountain. The Japanese company also revealed 11 upcoming PS VR2 titles today including The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Cities VR – Enhanced Edition, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, and more

PlayStation VR2 pre-orders will be available on direct.playstation.com starting on November 15 in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg. Early enthusiasts will also be able to register for pre-orders starting today.

In addition to the standalone PS VR2 bundle, Sony will also sell the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle at $599.99/€649.99/£569.99. A PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station will also be available for $49.99/€49.99/£39.99.

Sony’s original PlayStation VR headset for the PS4 launched at $399/€399/£349 back in 2016, and the company sold over 5 million units since its launch. Sony is currently the only console maker to offer VR experiences with its PlayStation consoles, but the PS VR2 costing more than a PlayStation 5 console may well make it a tough sell even for VR enthusiasts.
