SwiftKey Beta for Android Picks Up Photo Themes

Posted October 30, 2017 | Android | SwiftKey | Windows

The beta version of SwiftKey for Android was updated to support custom photo themes. That means you can place your own photos behind the on-screen keyboard.

“We’ve just released Photo Themes,” the release notes for the latest SwiftKey Beta for Android reads. “Turn your photos into a custom theme. Take your favorite photo and turn into your SwiftKey theme.”

One thing about the beta version: Features like Photo Themes may never actually make it into the shipping version of the app, based on feedback. But this one looks like a winner.

And it’s easy enough to use: Just navigate to SwiftKey > Themes > Custom, tap “Start” to design your new theme, and choose an image.

In the resulting wizard, you can size and position the image, and customize its transparency level, and determine whether key borders and symbols are displayed.

Voila. OK, maybe not my best effort.
