The Sams Report: Windows Twelve

Posted July 15, 2022 | Podcasts | The Sams Report | Windows

Don’t get me wrong, I have been by Windows during the good and bad. Always gave me something to talk about in the tech world other than hardware. If true that Microsoft is going back to a big Windows launch, but with maybe a feature/security updates rolling out possibly quaterly, I could get behind that, especially as Microsoft can focus on core parts of the OS and stability on a longer timeframe to at least build what I would call the framework or in car terms, chasis. They can than constantly update it before the next big Windows launches. I see this similar in many ways to how Microsoft functioned previously, such as with Windows 95-98-98SE and even more so with Windows XP-SP2, just with maybe a faster tick-tock cadence and what seems to still be free updates. I would like to see them focus on their core apps such as what they are doing with the new modern Media Player, but also I would like to see them build a game Big screen mode interface where all your games can be using a game controller to navigate and select the game, akin to Steam Big screen mode. Wishful thinking….
