Windows 10 Version 1809 Surpasses 20 Percent Usage Share

Posted February 26, 2019 | Microsoft Surface | Windows | Windows 10

The latest AdDuplex report shows that Windows 10 version 1809 usage share has hit 21 percent, almost double the usage from a month ago.

“This number is almost double of what we’ve seen last month, but it’s still far away from the dominating April 2018 Update,” the AdDuplex report notes. “With only a few months to go until the next Windows 10 update is supposed to go mainstream, it is unclear if some PCs may have to install two major updates within a short period of time or go straight from … to [the next version upgrade].”

I don’t normally highlight this part of AdDuplex’s monthly report, but the Windows 10 version usage history chart is particularly interesting because you can so easily see how slowly Windows 10 version 1809 has rolled out so far compared to previous versions.

In other news, AdDuplex also looked at Surface PC usage. Of the most recently updated or released PCs, the most interesting change is for Surface Go, which has hit double-digit usage share of 10 percent and is now the fourth most popular Surface model by usage. Surface Pro 6 is in fifth place with 7.84, and Surface Laptop is way back in 12th place, with just 1.5 percent share.
