Tips and picks
App pick of the week: .NETpad (C#/WinForms/.NETFW4.x)
It’s finally here and available for cloning from GitHub to one and all. Next month, I’ll start modernizing it.
App pick of the week #2: File Manager.
Yes, THAT File Manager. You can use it now in supported Windows versions. It’s even available from the Microsoft Store.
Enterprise pick of the week: Wave 1 2022 Dynamics and Power Platform
Twice a year, the Dynamics, Power Platform (and now Industry Cloud) teams publish a partial roadmap of features coming to the various products in these families. The roadmaps – with 100s of new features and 100s of pages – is now available for the April-Sept. Wave.
Enterprise pick 2 of the week: Azure Open Source Day
February 15. A free, virtual event about Microsoft and open source, and especially about using Linux and Azure together. It is a marketing event (in partnership with AMD) but still might be interesting. They’ll be talking CBL-Mariner, Azure Hybrid Benefit, dev tools, and more.
Beer pick of the week: Other Half Broccoli World Special Reserve
Other Half is one of my top breweries and unsurprisingly specializes in IPAs. They’ve named a bunch of them after things that are green like hops (cheddar, cabbage, broccoli). It’s their 8th anniversary this year and they’re brewing some original recipes again like the DIPA Broccoli World. And if you’re in NYC in the Rock Center area, you must visit the new taproom!
