Microsoft has released today the November 2022 update for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. This update makes the built-in Discord voice chat more accessible, and it also adds new live-streaming options in addition to the existing Twitch integration.

The November Xbox update is likely the last system update we’re going to see in 2022, and it brings minor improvements to the Microsoft Store, game captures, and the Settings app. Here are the main highlights:

Discord Voice Chat: You can now join voice channels on Discord servers right from the Parties & chats section of the Xbox guide. However, you still need to use the Discord mobile app to transfer private chats from your phone to your console. Noise suppression for Discord voice chats has also been activated by default on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Lightstream and Streamlabs integration: In addition to the built-in Twitch integration, you can now start a live stream on your Xbox with Lightstream and Streamlabs.

New Captures app: A new Captures app is available on Xbox consoles. It uses the same UI as the previous built-in experience, but Microsoft will now be able to update this experience without requiring a full OS update.

Sales notifications: The Microsoft Store app can now send you alerts when one of the games on your wish list goes on sale. It’s also now possible to share your wish list with other Xbox gamers.

Improved power options: Microsoft has revamped the Power options page to provide more details about the Shutdown (energy saving) and Sleep modes. There are also new granular settings for turning off your console after a specific amount of time.

New Recommendations in Settings: In the Settings app, the new Recommendations section will help users take advantage of all the features their TV and sound system has to offer.

In addition to all these new features rolling out on Xbox consoles, Microsoft announced today that it has also enabled controller rumble on Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC, Mac, and Samsung Smart TVs. The company is also bringing its Xbox app to Samsung Smart TVs released in 2021.
