Microsoft Releases New Windows 11 Insider Builds for Beta Channel Testers
Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 preview builds 22621.1250 and 22623.1250 for Insiders in the Beta Channel. There are no new features to check out this week, though Microsoft is introducing a new policy that lets IT admins customize how Search looks on the Windows 11 taskbar.
With the new policy, IT admins can either choose to have search on the taskbar to be hidden by default, displayed as a search icon with or without a label, or enable a real search box just like the one on the Windows 10 taskbar. You can learn more details about this new policy in this separate blog post.
Microsoft also addressed various taskbar bugs in the build 22623.1250: There’s a fix for an issue that was causing the search box to randomly disappear sometimes when users clicked it. Moreover, if you have the taskbar set to auto-hide, it should no longer unexpectedly hide when you press the Windows key and start typing.
That’s it for today’s flight for Beta Channel Insiders. If you’re on the Dev Channel, Microsoft also released the build 25290 yesterday which added support for two new widgets for Spotify and the Phone Link app.
