Apple Releases New iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 Betas

Posted July 8, 2019 | Apple | iOS | iPadOS | Windows

Apple today released new beta versions of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 for both developers and its public beta testers.

Previously, these released had been timed separately. Apple announced iOS 13 and iPadOS 13—and several other platform updates—at WWDC 2019 in early June and provided developers with the first private beta releases of each. The firm said at the show that the first public betas would land in early July, but it shipped them early, in late June, instead. By that point, developers were already on the second developer beta. Apple then shipped the third round of betas, only for developers, last week.

But now the developer and public betas—at least for iOS 13 and iPadOS 13—appear to be aligned schedule-wise. Developers can access the latest betas from the Apple Developer website, while interested lookie-loos can get started on the Apple Beta website. Already installed a previous beta? Check Settings > General > Software Update for the over-the-air update.

It’s not clear what’s new in this release, but if you are developers, these releases appear to be new versions of developer beta 3 and not a beta 4.
