Another day and more events are getting cancelled due to coronavirus. So far, a number of companies have already cancelled conferences and events due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Two of the most important cancellations have so far been Facebook’s annual developer conference F8 and GSMA’s Mobile World Congress. A number of companies are also pulling out of the Games Developer Conference due to coronavirus concerns.

And now, Google is cancelling its Cloud Next 2020 conference due to the same concerns. Google Cloud Next is an annual conference where Google shows off new services and features for Google Cloud. “Due to the growing concern around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC, WHO and other relevant entities, Google Cloud has decided to reimagine Google Cloud Next ’20, which will still take place from April 6-8,” the company said.

Like a lot of the other cancelled events, Google will now be hosting Cloud Next as a multi-day online event that anyone can live stream. This will include the keynotes, as well as the developer sessions.

Elsewhere, Adobe was forced to cancel Adobe Summit this year as well. The company will instead be hosting it as an online event, cancelling the in-person event that was supposed to take place in Las Vegas.

With Google I/O coming up soon, only time will tell whether Google will be cancelling its annual developer conference this year. It is obviously not an easy decision for the company, but if the coronavirus outbreak doesn’t slow down anytime soon, Google may be forced to cancel I/O 2020 as well.
