Google Go app comes to Android users everywhere
Initially launched on Android Go edition devices back in 2017, the Google Go app is now available on the Play Store worldwide, Google announced today. The not so new Google Go app is lightweight, fast and should help users access info, both online and offline, even with an unstable connection.
Moreover, Google Go helps users save storage on their devices, and keeps an unreliable connection from slowing them down. The app weighs about 7MB, so it won’t take a toll on your phone’s storage space.
But it’s not just Google Go that makes sure your phone stays speedy, as you will now have the option to download fewer apps since you’re given access to web versions of your favorite apps. Google Go will remember your place and retrieve your search results for you once you’re back online.
The app comes with Lens, a feature that will allow you to read, translate and search the words you see by using the phone’s camera. Whenever you find a text that you want to translate or read, open Lens and point your camera at it to hear the words read out loud to you, translate them, or both.
According to the search giant, Google Go is available on the Play Store globally for all Android devices using Lollipop and above, starting today.
