Motorola confirms Android 9.0 Pie for Moto Z2 Force comes with 5G mod support in the US

Posted June 22, 2019 | Mobile | News

Motorola has already kicked off the Android 9.0 Pie roll-out to the Moto Z2 Force almost three weeks ago, but the update was only available in two countries initially – Brazil and India. Today, Motorola announced the Android 9.0 Pie update for Moto Z2 Force is available in the United States, or at least that’s what the phone’s support page claims.Apart from the many new features and improvements Android 9.0 Pie brings to the Moto Z2 Force, Motorola confirmed the update will also add support for 5G through its 5G moto mod. On top of that, the US company added the June security patch, the most recent update released by Google that fixes some security issues.

The full changelog can be found on the official Moto Z2 Force support page, but there’s no telling when exactly Motorola will start pushing out the update. The company recommends Moto Z2 Force owners in the US to manually check for the update if they have not received a notification message for Android 9.0 Pie.

In order to do that, simply head to Settings / System / System updates / Download and install. Make sure that your phone’s battery is at least 50% charged and that you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network before attempting to download the update though.
