Google is finally bringing Duo voice call to Home smart speakers, a feature that was already available on smart displays. A new update to the smart speakers will allow Google Home users to make and receive calls with other Duo users on their smart speakers using Duo.Duo voice call support is only compatible with the following smart speakers: Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max. Of course, it’s only available in English in the United States, and calls are only possible between Duo users.

It’s also worth mentioning that even though the Home smart speakers are getting Duo support, you will not be able to make emergency calls using Duo. Also, AndroidPolice reports that Duo calling is available in other languages as well (German), as long as you have the primary language of your Google Home speaker set to US English.

To set up Duo call, simply open the Google Home app on your phone, tap your device, and at the top right, tap Settings. Under More, choose Duo calling and follow the in-app instructions for set up.

When you want to use your Google Home smart speaker to make a Dup call, simply say “Call [contact] on Duo,” and then “End the call” or “Hang up” when you’re finished. To answer a Duo call, you’ll just have to say “Ok Google,” then “Answer the call” or “Decline the call” if you don’t want to take it. You can even turn on do not disturb mode to temporarily prevent your Home speaker from receiving calls.
