The
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the
Galaxy Note 10+ are
expected to be introduced on August 7th during the next Samsung Unpacked event to be held in Brooklyn, New York. We should see two different versions of each model, one with 4G LTE connectivity and the other supporting 5G. Today,
tipster Ice Universe tweeted photographs claiming to show screen protectors for both handsets. Based on the images, it would appear that the handsets will indeed have a punch-hole selfie camera placed in the middle of the display and a vertically mounted rear camera module on the upper left side of the back panel.
Both the Galaxy Note 10 (SM-N970 for the 4G LTE model, SM-N971 for the 5G version) and the Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975 for 4G LTE model, SM-N976 for the 5G variant) will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform in the U.S. and the Exynos 9825 SoC just about everywhere else. The latest rumor has
both models equipped with two Time of Flight (ToF) sensors, one in front and one in back. These sensors time how long it takes infrared light to hit the subject and bounce back to the
phone providing more accurate depth calculations. This can be used to improve the bokeh (blur) on portraits and can also be used to create 3D mapping for facial recognition.

Besides the ToF sensor, the cameras could include a 12MP camera with variable aperture, a 12MP telephoto camera and a 16MP camera with Ultra wide-angle capabilities. Both models will also feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, PowerShare reverse
wireless charging, and an IP68 certification rating. The latter means that both models are impervious to dust and can be submerged in up to 5-feet of water for 30 minutes. And don’t forget that each Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ phone will come with the S Pen. Last year Samsung added Bluetooth support to the stylus allowing it to be used to snap photographs, control streaming media and run a slideshow. This year, we haven’t heard much about the tool indicating that we shouldn’t expect to see any new functionality for it.

The Galaxy Note 10 should feature a 6.3-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3040. That works out to an aspect ratio of 19:9. A 3400mAh battery is said to be in charge of providing power to the unit, and pricing could start in the $1,100-$1,200 range. The Galaxy Note 10+ is believed to be equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display (also 1440 x 3040 for a 19:9 aspect ratio). Reportedly, this model will come with a 4500mAh battery and offer 25W fast charging.

While we are unsure about the possible configurations of each phone, we have seen benchmark tests for the Verizon version of the 5G Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N976V) and the international variant of the same phone (SM-N976B). The former had 12GB of memory with the latter carried 8GB of RAM. There could be a version with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, one with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage, and a unit with 12GB of memory with 512GB or 1TB of storage. All of these questions will surely be answered on August 7th.
We could see Samsung taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ immediately after the Unpacked event wraps up at Barclay’s Center. Last year the
Galaxy Note 9 was released 15 days after it was announced; using the same calculations for this year would give us a possible launch date of August 22nd.
