It’s finally here. After all the countless leaks and rumours, Samsung is officially announcing the new Galaxy Note 10 line. And to be honest, we pretty much already knew everything about the new products, but they are now officially confirmed, with some marketing jargon to go along with them.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Note 10 comes with a 6.3-inch display, while the Note 10+ comes with a 6.8-inch display. Both the devices feature a really small hole-punch notch at the front for the camera, with “nearly bezel-less” dynamic AMOLED displays that actually allow for a really beautiful design. On the back of the device, Samsung has gone for a two-tone gradient design that is, without a doubt, really gorgeous. The device comes in three different colors: Aura Glow, Aura White and Aura Black.

It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The new Note 10 line also comes with a next-gen S Pen. This year, Samsung is making the S Pen do more than just a stylus — it’s adding air gestures so you will be able to take pictures remotely, change playlists on Spotify, or control your presentations without actually placing it on the device. Samsung is calling it a “magic wand” for your smartphone. It also allows for the usual S Pen stuff like the editing and inking, as well as handwriting-to-text conversion.

The cameras are getting major upgrades too — Samsung is calling a “pro-grade” camera. It now allows for real-time depth shots on videos, so you can get the bokeh effect on your videos. There are also a bunch of new “lenses” that allow for “beautiful portraits, stunning landscapes, and crisp super-closeups in any light”, according to the company. There’s even a new system for sound recording on the camera, allowing you to switch between three Audio Zoom microphones that adjust the sound recording as you zoom in on something during a video. It’s actually a pretty cool idea. Specs-wise, there’s a triple-camera setup on the back, with a 12MP main sensor (with three-stage variable aperture switching between f/1.5, f/1.8, and f/2.4), a 12MP telephoto sensor, and a 16MP ultrawide sensor.

Samsung is also upgrading the DeX experience on the Note 10 with new features: you can now drag and drop files between your PC and Mac via a compatible USB connection. The Note 10 also integrates with Windows 10 with a “Link to Windows” feature that comes with a quick icon on the Quick Panel that lets you open up Your Phone easily.

On the battery side, the Note 10 comes with a 3,500mAh battery while the Note 10+ comes with a 4,300mAh battery. Samsung says the devices are packed with new algorithms that optimizes power based on the way you use your phone. It also comes with a Superfast Charge system that allows you to get hours of charge from a few minutes of charge.

Under the hood, you will be getting up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on the Note 10, with no microSD card slot. And on the Note 10+, you are getting up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage and with a microSD card slot to further expand the storage. Both the devices are powered by Samsung’s brand new octa-core Exynos 9825 processor, built using its own 7-nanometer EUV (extreme ultra-violet) silicon manufacturing, and comes with its Mali-G76 MP12 GPU, an integrated NPU, and allows for 5G, as well as 8K UHD video encoding/decoding.

And that means Samsung will be launching a 5G model of the device, too. Oh and, the headphone jack is gone. Samsung will be shipping a Type-C to headphone jack adapter with the device to allow you to continue using your old headphones.

Galaxy Note 10 starts at $949, while the Note 10+ starts at $1,099. Available August 23, pre-orders open tomorrow.
