Just like it did with the Surface Pro line last year, most of the changes made to the Surface Pro 7 will be internal although there could be thinner bezels and a slightly flatter design. The big news is that all of the new variants of the tablet will feature 4G LTE connectivity. And this will be the case even though some units might be powered by 10th generation Intel Core processors and others by ARM CPU cores courtesy of a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx. The latter is integrated with the Snapdragon X24 modem chip supporting download speeds of up to 2Gbps.

Today’s report notes that the DisplayPort will be replaced by a USB-C port, but since Surface Connect will remain onboard, the new port will not support the Thunderbolt 3 standard. And lastly, Microsoft might offer some new TypeCovers for the Surface Pro 7 sporting some different colors. A patent that popped up for the accessory last November revealed a new process to manufacture the TypeCover; this would result in a thinner keyboard 20% lighter than the one found on the current TypeCovers. In addition, a trackpad for the keyboard could be integrated directly into the circuitry.
