The LG V50s ThinQ could be a cheaper version of the regular V50
Some months after launching the high-end V50 ThinQ (seen above) in the US, LG might now be readying the release of a V50s ThinQ. While at the moment there are no official details on the LG V50s ThinQ, a logo depicting its name has been revealed on Twitter by Evan Blass.
We assume that the V50s ThinQ will be a cheaper, less advanced variant of the regular V50 – similar to what the recently released LG G8s ThinQ is compared to the regular G8 ThinQ. The display of the G8s has a lower pixel resolution than that of the G8 (1080 x 2248 vs. 1440 x 3120), so we are expecting screen resolution to be one of the differentiators between the V50s and V50.
Compared to previous LG V-series smartphones, the V50 ThinQ brings two standout features: 5G connectivity, and a secondary detachable screen. At the moment, it’s unclear if these will be found among V50s ThinQ’s features. Regardless of that, the V50s should be a high-end Android handset, likely powered by the same processor found inside the V50, G8, and G8s: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855. Other features may include water resistance, 6 GB of RAM, and a triple rear camera.
Design-wise, the LG V50s ThinQ should resemble the V50 a lot. In other words, it will probably be a fairly large device with a display of around 6.4-inches.
The regular LG V50 ThinQ is currently priced at $999 and is available in the US via Verizon Wireless and Sprint. It remains to be seen if the LG V50s ThinQ will benefit from wider availability and a more attractive price.
