Sony Kicks Out Facebook From the PlayStation 4

Sony is rolling out a significant update to the PlayStation 4 system, and it’s also making a pretty big change to one of the social features. PlayStation 4 users will no longer be able to use the Facebook integration on their PlayStation 4 starting today.
Sony is removing the official Facebook integration from the PlayStation 4 system, removing share features, and preventing users from posting their gameplay and trophy activity to their Facebook profile. Users will also no longer be able to use the Friend Finder or Friends List features as part of the change. Those users whose profile pictures are imported from Facebook will also be removed, and Sony is also removing the ability to link your Facebook account to your PlayStation Network account.
Sony won’t say exactly why it’s removing the Facebook integration, though it’s a pretty unexpected change. Facebook, on the other hand, has been ramping up its social integrations on its Oculus platform, going as far as powering the entire social platform on its network.
